Huang Gang draws upon twenty-four
years of experience in the Chinese government.
Mr. Huang’s government
service includes a four year diplomatic posting in
Washington D.C., where he was First Secretary of the
Chinese Embassy to the United States. At the embassy,
Mr. Huang coordinated cooperative activities between
the two countries in the fields of transportation,
standardization, advanced materials and metrology.
The State Science and Technology Commission and the
Chinese Embassy honored Mr. Huang as an Excellent
Government Officer in 1995.
After representing China as
a diplomat, Mr. Huang held several senior management
positions at the China State Shipbuilding Corporation
(CSSC). He acted as Director of the company’s
International Cooperation Division, Deputy General
Manager of the Development Planning Department, and
General Manager of the Asset Management Department.
This background has left him with strong contacts
in the National Development and Reform Commission
(NDRC); the State-owned Asset Supervision and Administration
Commission (SASAC); the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM);
and the State Administration of Quality Supervision,
Inspection and Quarantine (SAQSIQ). Mr. Huang also
worked for twelve years as an industry standardization
researcher in CSSC before his diplomatic posting.
Mr. Huang holds a degree in
Marine Electronic Engineering from Harbin Shipbuilding
Engineering Institute. He speaks Mandarin and English.
